Attn: Ilex fax users
FaxPlus’ goal is to provide resources to assist you with the transition from KOV-14 Fortezza cards to KSV-21 Fortezza cards. The KSV-21 will only support Asynchronous data modes.
Please read the following carefully so you can determine the operational status of your equipment:
If you have any of these models, you will already be compatible with the
KSV-21 Cards because these models support Asynch data modes.
Ilex 6000-SF
Ilex 6000-TSF
Ilex 890-SF (with 2.1A software)
Ilex 890-TSF (with 2.1 software)
For the 890 models listed above, you can determine the software revision from the “Setup” printout. To obtain the printout, depress the “Monitor” button followed by the “Print Setup” key on the One Touch keypad. A 2-page report will be produced showing the current default settings. On the second line from the top of the first page the software revision will be shown. It needs to show 2.1A.
If you own any of the models listed below, there will be NO Asynch data upgrade capability available:
Ilex 890-SF (other than 2.1A software)
Ilex 890-TSF (other than 2.1 software)
Ilex 595-SF
Ilex 595-TSF
Ilex 300-SF
If you own Ilex 895-SF and 795-SF models produced prior to January 2007, they can be upgraded in your office to be Asynch compatible with KSV-21 cards. Instructions for implementing this upgrade are included in this web site.
Simply click “UPGRADE 795SF” or ”UPGRADE 895SF” depending on your model and download the ".zip" file. Once you have downloaded the .zip file, unzip to a folder on your desktop. There is an instruction sheet included with the download.
In addition to the downloaded files, you will also need a 9-pin serial cable. This cable can be obtained from Faxplus by calling our Supply Dept. on (703) 807-1000 or emailing supplysales@faxplusinc.com . There are also instructions included with the upgrade files if you would like to construct your own cable.
If you own a TEMPEST model, 795-TSF or 895-TSF, DO NOT attempt to upgrade the unit yourself. Please contact FaxPlus on (703) 807-1000 so we can provide a TEMPEST certified technician.
